Description
Alerting all teacher-librarians: There is a new set of standards in town! Released in 2008 and planned to be in the hands of all teacher-librarians by 2012, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has created new Standards for the 21st-Century Learner and Learning 4 Life (L4L), a national plan for implementation. As part of the 2010 class of the American Library Association's (ALA) Emerging Leaders, we undertook the task of connecting relevant web sites to each of the four new standards. These web sites would then be used by pre-service, new, or returning school library media specialists to use in developing implementation strategies and support the AASL's new Best Websites for Teaching and Learning list (http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/aasl/ guidelinesandstandards/bestlist/bestwebsitestop25.cfm).
